Our Core Ministries

The Heart of Capernaum Ministries is designed for the discouraged, dis-heartened, hurting pastor in need of healing, rest, rejuvenation, encouragement, and restoration. These descriptions should be viewed in their widest as well as in their most narrow definition; from the pastor looking for a “recharge”, to a pastor in “crises”.

Pastoral Rejuvenation

First and foremost, our heart is to provide a place where church leadership can come and receive the rest, and relaxation that those in the ministry rarely have the opportunity to receive. In addition, Capernaum Ministries has a strong vision to facilitate the healing and restoration of hurting pastors across the nation, many who are leaving the pastorate each year in epidemic numbers.

Capernaum Ministries is specifically targeted for the strengthening and encouragement of pastors needing a place for refreshing and/or healing. Whether the need is for a tranquil place of rest, a time for to renew his relationship with his wife, or for confidential counseling; Capernaum offers a beautiful and unique setting to all church leadership.

Capernaum Inn

Second, Capernaum Inn, the physical property (which includes 8 Cabins in addition to Full-Service RV sites), provides a secluded, tranquil setting for use by Pastors, Church Leaders and Church-attending Christians to rest, rejuvenate, refresh, and reflect on God’s Word.

We utilize our physical grounds to cater to Pastors and Church Leadership to conduct their own staff gatherings, men’s or women’s group meetings, or attend one of the many year-round programs and seminars that are available.

The Kingdom

The third area of ministry is involved in community-building for the Kingdom. Through regular prayer meetings attended by over a dozen local Pastors, a unifying direction is developed for the community. This includes programs for youth in schools, programs for Christian Businessmen, and Pastor Laboratories featuring speakers such as the born-again evangelical Sheriff of Polk County, to share concerns about youth, bullying, and gangs in our area.

Through the unifying relationships developed through these meetings, a revival is taking place that has already produced a noticeable change that local business, civic, and church leaders acknowledge is occurring.

Monthly Spotlight

  • Capernaum News and an Upcoming Event

It’s off to Washington D.C. for our men. The Watchmen on the Wall National Briefing Program will take place from May 24 through 26th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington, D.C. Our own Jim Way will lead two breakout sessions on Thursday afternoon described thus on the Family Research Council website:

    “Transforming Your City”

Becoming A New Testament First Century Community

Imagine all the leaders in your community moving in the same direction for the good of all.

Using a true success story from Lake Wales, FL, you will hear from the Mayor, Chief of Police, Superintendent of Schools, and the recent Past President of the Chamber of Commerce. This breakout will explore how to synchronize with and leverage the business, educational, government and faith leaders working together to find common solutions to community problems.
    Jim Way*President, Capernaum Ministries

There will be a group of pastors and leaders who will represent Lake Wales. It is such an honor to be invited back again this year to share what God has been doing in our community. Please be in prayer that our testimony will be effective, and that cities all across the US will be transformed for the glory of God.

Other speakers at this National meeting include: David Barton, Founder of WallBuilders, Lt. General William Boykin, Dr. Frank Turek, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, Dr. Kenyn Cureton, and of course, President of FRC, Tony Perkins.

Please be in prayer for this event, and particularly lift up Jim and our men on Thursday, May 25th.

If you would like to attend, please visit the FRC Website where you can register: http://www.watchmenpastors.org/national-event
